Firm Background

Providence Architecture, P.A., founded under the leadership of the firm’s president, Christopher H. Wilson, opened its doors for business on January 1st, 2006.

After twenty plus years of varied experiences in the architecture field, Mr. Wilson was encouraged to lay the groundwork for the development of a firm that would provide quality service to clients who are looking for refreshing design in the field of architecture, including:

    • The ability to work with a diverse clientele, from individual homeowners, business entrepreneurs, as well as committee groups.
    • Apply sound design principles, unique design solutions, along with the latest codes while remaining focused on the client’s vision.
    • Working together with the client to provide the most comprehensive design with the support of other colleagues in the field.
    • Accountability as a steward of the client's time and fiscal resources, placing the needs of the client first.

With these goals as foundation blocks to build upon, Providence Architecture, P.A. plans to  continue to serve the unique needs of each client so that they may make the most informed decisions regarding their investment.

Mr. Christopher H. Wilson, registered architect in both North and South Carolina, is the founder and president of Providence Architecture, P.A.

After graduating Tau Sigma Delta from Auburn University’s School of Architecture in 1987, Mr. Wilson continued in the field of architecture after moving to Charleston, S.C.

There, he had the privilege to work under the leadership of Myles Glick, partner of Glick/Boehm and Associates. Myles wrote the following in his letter of recommendation:

“You approach each and every design challenge on an individual basis and brought forth concepts and solutions that were unique…I would recommend you to any client because your work is always refreshing and your attention to detail is always appropriate.”

After receiving an associate position at Northwest Associates Architecture in August of 2000, Mr. Wilson continued to grow in his knowledge of the profession and became more involved in project management and construction administration. After becoming licensed in 2005, Mr. Wilson followed his aspiration to open Providence Architecture.

Outside of his service to the Hickory area, Mr. Wilson has enjoyed participating in AIA150, a grassroots community outreach through the AIA Charlotte.
